Design Request: 

Clients desired a home for their growing family on a large lot in a subdivision in the country while bringing the outdoors in and the indoors outside.

Design Challenges:

• This is a home featured in the 2024 Home-A-Rama built by Wedgewood Building Company. 

• The clients were influenced by a more traditional style of home with a large front porch. 

• The few trees were to be preserved on the lot if possible.

Design Solutions: 

• A large wrap-around porch with doors to numerous rooms was designed to bring the outdoors in.

• The massing is more of a core portion of a house with "additions" similar to what would be seen with an older home and additions over time.

• The house was oriented on the lot to preserve trees but still allow for a loop drive.
