Blue J Design Studio, LLC is the business "baby" of Jaclyn Hanson, AIA, LEED BD+C-- a registered architect in the states of Indiana and Ohio.

Jaclyn has been designing homes ever since the early 1980s-- mostly during family car trips to Florida. This interest in designing buildings led her to pursue degrees in architecture at the University of Cincinnati. Before and after graduating with her Master in Architecture in 2003, she worked at multiple architecture and interior design firms-- mostly commercial in nature.

In 2009, Jaclyn jumped into motherhood and took a break from architecture to focus on family. While mostly at home and often frantically running up and down the stairs for forgotten items, Jaclyn became interested in how a home's design and layout affects how a family functions within it.

In 2016, Jaclyn started working at a custom home builder as an architect. It is there that she learned how builders function, more deeply about wood framed construction,  residential systems, the residential design process, and construction documentation of homes. She also enjoyed presenting construction drawings to homeowners and communicating with them to finalize drawings.

In 2019, Blue J Design Studio LLC was born.  Blue J's mission is to provide truly custom, sustainable, and customer-centric residential architectural solutions to central Indiana.
